History Bedworth Civic Bonfire Night

The Bedworth Civic Bonfire has been running for many years. In the beginning, the event was run by Nuneaton & Bedworth council staff, with the assistance of Bedworth Round Table and Bedworth Lions. Over the years the Bedworth Round Table and Lions took on more and more work for the event, eventually being given total responsibility by the council.

In the 1990’s it was decided to start using the event to raise funds for local charities, which opened up the opportunity to expand the event with food and merchandise stalls. In 2008 we decided to bring music to the event which has seen record numbers coming through the gates.

Nuneaton & Bedworth council still support the event by donating the majority of the costs of the fireworks.

In the 25+ years the event has been running over £100,000 has been raised for local charities with the local communities support.
